Dr. Stensvad and his team provide some of the latest advances in dentistry, including, intra-oral cameras, Invisalign orthodontics, in-office crown design and creation as well as extensive use of tooth-colored fillings.
Cosmetic dentistry is one of the most cost-effective ways to improve your appearance. A beautiful, bright, healthy smile can increase self confidence and overall life satisfaction.
Many regular dental treatments can be cosmetic. Modern tooth-colored fillings are virtually invisible when compared to traditional silver fillings. Tooth-colored crowns or caps can be placed instead of gold or silver, most often, in the same day. In this section, we will look at some of the best treatments we can use to greatly improve your smile and the way you feel about yourself.
Invisalign — The clear alternative to metal braces.
Invisalign is a breakthrough technology that straightens teeth with a series of clear, virtually invisible, custom-molded aligners. These aligners replace the wires and brackets of the past, making orthodontic care practically unnoticeable to others. And, unlike braces of the past, these clear aligners can be removed while you eat and brush your teeth.
Invisalign has been proven effective in both clinical research and in dental practices nationwide and can treat:
- Crowded teeth
- Gaps in teeth
- Shifting of teeth after braces
Best of all, Invisalign helps improve your overall health, including:
- Healthier gums
- Easier cleanings
- Improved chewing
- Reduced risk of abnormal tooth wear
- Improved speech
- Greater sense of well-being

Teeth Whitening/Bleaching
Teeth will naturally darken over time, but they will also darken or become stained from things like coffee, tea, and smoking. The most effective teeth whitening products are those that are dispensed or used by a dentist. Many over-the-counter products are available, and depending on your teeth, these products can make an improvement, but they are not as strong and may take longer.
Professional in-home teeth whitening procedures use a bleaching gel placed into a custom tray that fits over your teeth. To make the trays, impressions are taken of your teeth. The trays are thin and cover only your teeth, in order to protect the gums from the gel. The trays are worn up to thirty minutes, twice a day for about two weeks, or until you are satisfied with the result. Over time, you can give your teeth a whitening "boost" once a month or so to maintain them.
Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain veneers are becoming increasingly popular because they provide beautiful natural-looking results. Teeth that have gaps or spaces between them, are discolored, badly shaped, or crooked can often be corrected with porcelain veneers. Teeth that have been damaged by trauma, or teeth that have developmental defects, can also be restored with porcelain veneers.
Designed to cover the front surface of the teeth, porcelain veneers are custom-made, very thin, translucent, and natural looking. To construct veneers, the teeth are prepared by removing a small amount of the outer surface of enamel. This allows for the porcelain veneers to fit against the teeth and just below the gumline without being bulky.
